  • 2 sticks margarine
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 (6 oz.) bag semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 c. chopped nutmeats

Directions

    Preheat oven to 350°.

    Melt margarine and add to it the brown sugar, vanilla and egg yolk.

    Beat until fluffy.

    Add the flour and blend together.
  5. 5
    Mixture will be quite thick.

    Spread into a lightly greased 9 x 13-inch pan.

    Bake at 350° for 25 minutes. Sprinkle with the chocolate chips and put back in oven for 5 minutes.

    Remove from oven and sprinkle with nutmeats.

    Cut while warm.

    Makes about 2 dozen bars.
