Escalloped Onions

  • 12 to 18 medium onions, quartered
  • 2 c. buttered bread crumbs
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 lb. Velveeta cheese

Directions

    Cook onions in salt water until tender.

    Save 1 1/2 cups of the water.

    Blend water, flour, cheese and pepper into a sauce. Pour over onions in casserole.

    Sprinkle bread crumbs over the sauce.

    Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.
