  • 34 cup butter (softened)
  • 34 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 12 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 tablespoons unsweetened baking cocoa
  • 2 cups quick oats (the finer, the better)
  • confectioners' sugar (enough to coat balls)

    Beat butter well.

    Add sugar and mix.

    Add water, vanilla and cocoa and mix.

    Add and mix in the oats last.

    Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.

    Shape mixture into 36 (3 dozen) walnut-sized balls and roll in confectioners sugar.

    Keep cookies refrigerated until ready to serve.
