- 1 c. self-rising corn meal
- 1 c. self-rising flour
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/2 c. melted shortening
- 3 eggs, beaten
- 2 c. buttermilk
- 1/2 stick margarine
Directions

1Mix dry ingredients thoroughly.

2Add shortening, eggs and buttermilk.

3Mix well.

4Pour in greased pan (cast-iron frypan is good).

5Bake at 425° about 45 minutes, until brown.

6Remove from oven and rub margarine over top until melted into bread.
