  • 15 ounces chickpeas
  • 3 tablespoons tahini
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons lemon zest
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons cumin
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 2 tablespoons onions
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • olive oil (for frying)

    Pulse all ingredients in food processor until mostly smooth but still chunky.

    ( Mixture can be made ahead and refrigerated overnight ).
