- 1 c. raisins
- 1 (8 oz.) box dates
- 1 lb. candied pineapple
- 1 1/2 ??? candied cherries
- 8 oz. mixed fruit (optional)
- 4 c. nuts
- 3/4 to 1 c. flour
- 5 eggs
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 1 c. white sugar (granulated)
- 1 c. Wesson oil
- 2 c. flour (self-rising recommended)
- 2 tsp. allspice
- 2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. cloves
Directions

1Combine first 7 ingredients in large bowl.

2Mix eggs, sugars and oil in large bowl.

3Sift together dry ingredients in small bowl.

4To oil, sugar and egg mixture, add flour mixture alternately with 1 (6-ounce) can of pineapple juice.

5Pour batter over floured fruit and nut mix, taking care to mix well.

6Pour into 10-inch tube pan.

7Bake in slow oven at 300° for 3 hours.

8Let stand in pan 15 minutes.

9Turn out onto cake rack.

10When cake is cold, wrap in foil and store in covered container.

11Yields 5 1/2-pound cake.
