- 1 c. cornmeal
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 4 tsp. baking powder
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1 c. milk
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 c. shortening
Directions

1In a mixing bowl, combine flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder and salt.

2Add the milk and eggs and shortening; beat for 1 minute. Pour into a greased 9-inch square baking dish.

3Bake at 425° for 20 to 25 minutes or until bread is golden brown.
