Ingredients
- 1 pkg. active dry yeast
- 1 c. warm water
- 1 c. scalded milk, cooled
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/4 c. cooled melted shortening
- 6 1/2 c. flour
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in warm milk and water.

2Add sugar, salt, egg and shortening.

3Add 3 cups flour.

4Beat.

5Gradually add remaining flour; turn dough out on lightly floured board.

6Knead until smooth, about 10 minutes.

7Place in greased bowl; brush top with soft shortening.

8Cover.

9Let rise in a warm place until double in bulk (about 1 hour).

10Shape rolls and place on greased baking sheet and let rise again until doubled in size.

11Bake at 375° for 20 to 25 minutes.
