- 2/3 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- dash of salt
- 2 1/2 c. lukewarm water
- 2 pkg. RapidRise yeast
- 6 c. self-rising flour
Directions

1Place yeast in 2 1/2 lukewarm cups water; set aside.

2Mix 4 cups flour, salt, baking powder and sugar together.

3Put in melted shortening and yeast water.

4Mix well.

5Take the 2 cups of flour and mix it into the dough mixture.

6Put about 2 handfuls of flour on countertop.

7Put dough on floured countertop.

8Grease fingers and knead dough.

9Put dough in greased bowl, cover and let rise. After it has doubled, punch it down.

10Make into rolls or bread, putting it into greased muffin tins or bread pans.

11Let it rise. Bake 15 minutes at 350°.
