- 6 egg yolks
- 1/2 c. water
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 tsp. orange and lemon flavorings
- 1 1/2 c. sifted cake flour
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 6 egg whites
- 3/4 tsp. cream of tartar
Directions

1Beat egg yolks until thick and lemon colored.

2Add water and continue beating until very thick.

3Gradually add sugar and extract.

4Sift flour with salt 3 times.

5Fold in egg yolk mixture a little at a time.

6Beat egg whites until foamy and then add cream of tartar.

7Beat until real moist and glossy looking.

8Fold this into first mixture.

9Bake in ungreased pan at 325° for 1 hour. Remove from oven, invert pan and completely cool before removing from the pan. cut into 3 layers and fill with the filling.
