- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. shortening (Crisco)
- 1/3 c. milk
- 1 egg, beaten
Directions

1Sift dry ingredients, cut in shortening.

2Add milk and egg. Drop by spoonful on top of boiling meat and juices (I use ham). Cover tightly and steam 12 minutes without removing cover.

3Makes 6 fluffy dumplings.
