  • 2 c. plain flour
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. cloves
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. oil
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. fig preserves
  • 1/2 c. nuts

    Sift first 6 ingredients.

    Combine and beat sugar, oil and eggs together.

    Add dry ingredients with buttermilk and vanilla. Fold in fig preserves and nuts.
