Ingredients

  • 1 tsp. butter
  • small amount sugar
  • 1 pt. figs, halved
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 c. milk
  • 1 c. cream
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. flour
  • dash of salt

Directions

    Use butter and small amount of sugar to coat 10-inch glass pie plate or 2-quart baking dish.

    Arrange figs, cut side up, on bottom.

    Beat eggs in large bowl with whisk until foamy.

    Add vanilla, milk, cream, 1/4 cup sugar and salt.

    Stir until blended. Add flour; stir until blended.

    Pour over figs.

    Bake until puffed and brown, for 35 minutes at 375°.

    Sprinkle with sugar.
