- 2 c. sugar
- 1 c. Crisco
- 1/2 c. milk
- 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 tsp. salt
Directions

1In one bowl, cream vanilla, sugar and Crisco; add milk and eggs and mix.

2In another bowl, mix flour, baking powder and salt. Add to first mixture slowly, mixing well.

3Roll out on floured board and divide dough.

4Chop 1 pint fig preserves.

5Roll cake dough into large square.

6Spread figs on 1/2 of dough.

7Fold dough over and cut into bars.

8Bake at 350°

9for 20 minutes.

10Cookies will not brown on top but will on bottom.
