- 3 qt. firm figs
- 5 lb. sugar
- 1 3/4 c. water
- 3 lemons, sliced
- 1 oz. cinnamon sticks
- 24 cloves
Directions

1Wash fruit carefully in colander.

2Let sugar and water come to a boil.

3Add lemons, figs and spices, tied in a bag.

4Boil slowly until figs are tender and clear, about 1 hour.

5Lift fruit carefully into sterilized jars; cover with juice.

6Seal while hot. Yields 4 pints.
