Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. cubed stewing beef
  • 1 (1 lb. 13 oz.) can baby carrots
  • 1 (8 oz.) can baby potatoes
  • 1/3 c. butter flavor Crisco
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce with onions
  • salt and pepper
  • 1/4 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. thyme
  • 1 (8 oz.) can green beans

Directions

    Coat beef with flour, salt and pepper.

    Brown in oil at medium heat.

    Drain fat.

    Drain and reserve liquid from potatoes, carrots and beans.

    Add water to make 2 cups.

    Add meat.

    Stir in tomato sauce and thyme.

    Cover and simmer 1 3/4 hours.

    Add vegetables. Simmer 15 minutes longer.
