  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter, unsalted chilled and cut into small pieces
  • 4 tablespoons water iced

Directions

    Mix flour and salt in a large bowl.

    Use your finger to mix in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

    Add water, a tablespoon at a time, stir until mixture forms a ball.

    Wrap the dough in plastic and refrigerate for 4 hours or overnight.

    Transfer dough onto a slightly floured working surface.

    Roll dough out to fit a 9 inch pie plate.

    Arrange crust in pie plate.

    Press the dough evenly into the bottom and sides of the pie plate, refrigerate or freeze it until ready to use.
