- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 qt. buttermilk
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3 c. whole wheat flour
- 3 c. all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 2 tsp. soda
Directions

1Cream sugar and shortening together.

2Add buttermilk gradually; mix in salt and whole wheat flour.

3Sift remaining dry ingredients together, add all at one time.

4Mix well.

5Roll out on a pastry cloth until almost paper thin.

6Place on a cookie sheet.

7Bake in 375° oven for 12 minutes or until brown and crisp.
