Florida Orange Fruit Cake

   Cream butter and sugar well.

   Add eggs one at a time and beat well.

   Add soda and buttermilk.

   Sift flour 3 times.

   Add alternately flour and milk, beating after each addition.

   Add 1 teaspoon orange rind.

   Dust nuts and dates with flour.

   Stir in cake mixture.

   Bake at 350° for 45 minutes in a 9 x 13-inch pan. When cool mix 1 cup sugar and 1 1/2 cups orange juice.

    Pour over cake a little at a time.
