Ingredients
- 225 grams whole meal or plain flour
- 115 grams butter
- 115 grams soft brown sugar
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- 1 large cooking apples ( or enough fruit to cover bottom of dish)
- 80 grams caster sugar
- 1/2 lemon: juice and zest
- 1 pinch ground cinnamon
Directions

1Make crumble rubbing butter and flour together until they resemble breadcrumbs.

2Stir in brown sugar and ginger.

3Cut apple ( or rhubarb) and place in three or four ramekins or an oven proof dish.

4Make sure bottom of dish covered by the fruit.

5Sprinkle fruit with juice and zest of half a lemon (or orange if preferred) and golden caster sugar and a touch of ground cinnamon if liked

6Spread previously prepared crumble on top.

7Bake for 25 or 30 minutes at 190C until golden brown.

8Serve with yogurt, custard, cream....
