  • 4 c. flour, spooned lightly
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1 3/4 c. shortening
  • 1 Tbsp. white vinegar

    Sift flour, sugar and salt.

    Add cut up shortening, not too fine.

    Beat water, vinegar and egg; mix well in a jar.

    Add to flour mixture; mix all together.

    Makes enough pie crust mix for 3 pies.

    This dough can be frozen, wrapped in wax paper.

    Bake in a 425° oven for 10 minutes; reduce to 350° for about an hour.
