- 1/3 c. shortening
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 c. butter, melted
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2Cream thoroughly the shortening, sugar and egg.

3In separate bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg.

4Stir flour mixture into creamed mixture alternately with milk.

5Fill greased or paper lined muffin cups 2/3 full.

6Bake for 20 to 25 minutes.

7Immediately after baking, roll muffins in melted butter, then into sugar and cinnamon.

8Makes 12 to 15 muffins.
