- 1/3 c. shortening
- 1 c. sugar, divided
- 1 egg
- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1/3 c. butter, melted
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
Directions

1Heat oven to 350 degrees.

2Mix together 1/2 c. sugar and cinnamon; set aside.

3Mix shortening, 1/2 c. sugar and egg. Measure flour by dip-level-pour method.

4Mix flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg; stir into shortening and sugar mixture, alternately with milk.

5Fill greased muffin cups 2/3 full.

6Bake 20 to 25 minutes, until golden brown.

7Remove from oven and immediately roll in melted butter, then the cinnamon sugar mix.
