French Hot Chocolate

- 4 sq. semi-sweet chocolate
- 1/4 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. whipping cream
- 4 c. milk
- 1/4 c. light corn syrup
Directions

1In a 1-quart saucepan over low heat, heat chocolate and corn syrup until chocolate is melted and smooth.

2Stir occasionally (a double boiler may be used).

3Cover and refrigerate until mixture is cool (30 minutes).

4Stir in vanilla.

5Heat milk over medium-low heat until very hot.

6Do not boil!

7In small bowl, mix whipping cream and chocolate mixture until soft peaks form (medium-low speed).

8Pour milk into coffeepot.

9Spoon equal amounts of whip cream mixture into 8 warmed coffee cups, gently pour hot milk mixture into cups and serve.
