  • 1/2 c. margarine or butter
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 1/2 c. milk
  • 12 slices bread (Pepperidge Farm, toasting white)

    Melt butter or margarine in 9 x 13-inch pan.

    Add brown sugar and cinnamon.

    Cover with 2 layers of 6 slices of bread.

    Beat eggs and milk.

    Pour over bread.

    Cover and let stand overnight in refrigerator.

    Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 40 to 45 minutes. Invert onto serving platter.

    Serve with syrup or powdered sugar.
