  • 2 c. fresh apples, chopped fine
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. Crisco
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. each: cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg

Directions

    Mix eggs, sugar and Crisco, then add sifted flour, spices, salt, soda, vanilla and water.

    Bake in tube pan at 350° for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
