- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 1/4 c. sifted cake flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. soda
- 1/2 c. Crisco
- 1/4 c. orange juice
- 3/4 c. milk
- 3 eggs
- grated rind of 1 orange
- chopped pecans
Directions

1Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, soda and salt.

2Add vegetable shortening, grated orange peel, 2/3 cup liquid.

3Mix in mixer on slow to medium speed for 2 minutes.

4Scrape sides frequently.

5Add remaining 1/3 cup liquid, eggs.

6Continue beating 2 more minutes.

7Pour batter into greased and floured pans.

8Bake 30 minutes at 350°.

9Frost with 7 Minute Frosting.

10Sprinkle each frosted layer with grated rind and chopped pecans.
