- 1 lb fillets fish
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 tablespoon white wine
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 small onion, sliced thin
- salt and pepper
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup milk
- 1 beaten egg
- salt and pepper
Directions

1Cut the fish in serving pieces and lay flat in a dish.

2Mix oil, wine, lemon juice, salt and pepper.

3Pour over the fish.

4Lay slices of onion on top of fish.

5Let soak for 1 hour.

6Remove fish and drain on paper towels.

7Make a batter of flour, milk, egg, salt and pepper.

8Dip fish into batter, covering all sides.

9Fry in hot fat and drain on paper before serving.

10Serve with tartar sauce.
