- 1 quart vegetable oil for frying
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 4 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 pound fresh green beans
Directions

1Heat oil in a deep-fryer or large saucepan to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

2Whisk together the flour, salt, pepper, and garlic powder; set aside.

3Pour the buttermilk into a shallow dish.

4Thread the green beans onto toothpicks, making bundles of about 5 green beans each.

5Dip the green bean bundles into the buttermilk, then into the flour mixture.

6Shake off any excess flour.

7Fry in the hot oil until the flour turns golden brown, about 4 minutes.

8Drain on a paper towel-lined plate, and serve hot.
