Fried Leeks
2 ingredients
3 steps
Ingredients
- 1 whole Leek
- 1/2 cups Canola Oil
Directions
-
1Be extra careful when frying up your leeks, as the hot oil can easily burn you.
-
2Clean leaks and slice the white part into 1/4 to 1/2 inch pieces. Cut each slice in half and loosen the rings from each other. Set aside for a moment.
-
3Heat about 1 inch of oil in a heavy pan over high heat. Place leeks into the hot oil (I test one first to see if it starts to sizzle quickly-if so, your oil is hot enough), and cook for about 4 to 6 minutes or until they start to turn brown. Remove from oil and place on paper towel lined plate.
