Fried Rice

Ingredients

  • 1 c. instant rice or 1 c. regular rice (but use 1 3/4 c. liquid)
  • 3 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 large heaping tsp. brown sugar
  • 1 c. liquid from celery
  • 1 c. chopped celery
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion (optional)
  • 1/2 c. shrimp or meat, chopped (optional)
  • 1/4 c. chopped green pepper (optional)
  • any other Oriental veggies (optional)
  • 1 Tbsp. soy sauce (optional)

Directions

    In 2 cups water, boil celery (and any other veggies) until tender.

    Set aside liquid.

    Melt butter in frypan.

    Add sugar. Brown rice; don't burn.

    Add celery and any other veggies.

    Cover and simmer for 8 to 10 minutes.

    Add meat/fish.

    Add soy sauce until liquid is absorbed.

    Serves 4 to 6.
