Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. softened margarine
  • 1/3 c. powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 Tbsp. water
  • 2/3 c. chopped dates
  • 1/2 c. pecans

Directions

    Cream margarine and sugar together.

    Stir in water and vanilla. Add flour and dash of salt.

    Mix well.

    Stir in dates and nuts. Roll into 1-inch balls.

    Place 2 1/2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.

    Bake in slow oven at 300° about 20 minutes or until cookies are set but not brown.

    While warm, roll with powdered sugar.
