- 2 c. unsifted self-rising flour
- 1 c. buttermilk or sweet milk
- 1/2 c. shortening
Directions

1Mix shortening and flour together with your fingers or pastry cutter.

2Add milk and will be a sticky dough.

3Place on a lightly floured board; handle gently until firm enough to roll out 1/2 inch thick.

4Cut out biscuits and place on a cookie sheet in freezer 1 to 2 hours.

5When frozen, remove from cookie sheet and place in a plastic bag.

6When ready to cook, remove amount of biscuits needed and place in a pan in a cold oven.

7Do not preheat oven.

8Turn oven to 450° and bake.

9Biscuits will be ready in 15 to 20 minutes.
