Ingredients

  • 1 medium head cabbage
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 grated carrot
  • 1 finely chopped green pepper
  • 1 c. white vinegar
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 2 c. granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp. celery seed
  • 1 tsp. dry mustard

Directions

    Shred cabbage and add salt.

    Let stand 1 hour.

    Squeeze out juice and add carrot and green pepper.

    While cabbage is standing or you may make this ahead:

    Combine vinegar, water, sugar, celery seed and dry mustard.

    Bring to a boil and boil for 1 minute.

    Cool thoroughly and pour over cabbage mixture.

    Mix well.

    Place in containers and freeze.

    This may be refrozen and slaw still remains crisp.
