- 1 lb. sugar
- 6 egg yolks, well beaten
- 1 qt. nuts (pecans or any)
- 2 lb. candied fruit
- 1 oz. vanilla extract
- 4 1/2 c. plain flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 6 well beaten egg whites
Directions

1Cream butter and add sugar.

2Cream and add egg yolks (well beaten).

3Add nuts.

4Add candied fruit.

5Add vanilla extract.

6Add plain flour with baking powder sifted in.

7Add well beaten egg whites.

8Mix with hand when too stiff to stir.

9Bake in well-greased and floured stem pan for 5 hours at 250° with water in oven above and below.
