Ingredients

  • 1 (30 oz.) can fruit cocktail with juice
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 c. sifted all-purpose flour
  • 3 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 c. chopped walnuts (pecans)
  • 1 1/2 c. raisins
  • 4 Tbsp. cognac or rum

Directions

    In large bowl, combine all ingredients.

    Stir until well blended; pour into 8-inch tube pan (not Bundt), coated with 4 tablespoons shortening and 2 tablespoons flour.

    Bake at 325° until tester comes out clean (approximately 2 hours).

    Cool on rack for at least 5 minutes before removing from pan.
