  • 2 c. white sugar
  • 1/2 c. evaporated milk
  • 1/3 c. dark corn syrup
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 c. chopped dates
  • 1 c. flaked coconut
  • 1 c. walnuts, coarsely chopped
  • extra coconut (for rolling candy log)

Directions

    Place sugar, milk, syrup and butter in heavy pan.

    Cook until reaches 236° (soft ball stage).

    Add dates and mix well until mixture leaves sides of pan.
  4. 4
    Mixture will be thickened and dates cooked apart.

    Add coconut and walnuts.

    Mix well.
