  • 8 ounces self raising flour
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 2 ounces butter
  • 1 ounce sugar
  • 2 ounces currants or 2 ounces sultanas
  • 1 egg
  • 14 pint milk

Directions

    heat oven to gas 7 425f.

    mix flour and salt,rub in butter and stir in sugar and fruit.
  3. 3
    mix the egg and milk together and add to other ingredients reserving a little to brush tops later.
  4. 4
    knead the dough lightly on a floured surface then roll out to 1/2 inch thickness.

    cut into 2 1/2 inch rounds until all dough used.

    brush tops with leftover egg/milk mix and bake for ten minutes.
