  • 2 1/4 c. sugar
  • 3/4 c. Pet evaporated milk
  • 16 large marshmallows
  • 1/4 c. butter or margarine
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 (6 oz.) pkg. (1 c.) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

    Mix

    sugar, milk, marshmallows, margarine and salt in a heavy 2 quart saucepan.

    Cook, stirring constantly over medium heat to a boil (mixture will be bubbling all over).

    Boil and stir 5 minutes

    from heat. Stir in until completely melted 6 ounces chocolate chips.

    Add nuts and vanilla and stir well.

    Spread in a buttered 8-inch square pan.
