  • 3 large eggs beaten
  • 2 cups milk
  • 4 cups flour, all-purpose sifted
  • 13 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 x lard for deep frying
  • 1 x powdered sugar

Directions

    Beat eggs with milk and gradually beat in flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder.

    Beat until very smooth.

    Holding the opening of a funnel closed, fill the funnel with the batter.

    Open the end of the funnel and allow dough to run out in a stream into deep hot fat.

    Move the funnel to make a pattern, starting at the center of the pan and swirling batter outward in a circle.

    Fry for 2 or 3 minutes, or until brown.

    Drain on absorbent paper and sprinkle with confectioners sugar.
