- 1 large loaf French bread
- 1 to 2 cloves garlic*
- 1/4 to 1/2 c. butter or margarine
Directions

1Soften butter.

2Crush garlic; work garlic into softened butter.

3Cut loaf of bread into 1 1/2-inch slices cutting through to within 1/2-inch from bottom.

4Spread garlic butter on either side of each slice; press back into shape and spread top and sides with garlic butter.

5Wrap in foil and bake at 400° for 10 minutes. Open foil and bake 5 minutes more.
