- 1 lb. lean ground beef
- 4 large cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp. basil
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. coarsely ground pepper
- 1 tsp. mustard seed
- 1 Tbsp. paprika, divided
- 1 tsp. liquid smoke
Directions

1In a bowl or with a food processor, mix beef, garlic, 1 1/2 teaspoons paprika and remaining ingredients until well blended. Shape into smooth 10-inch long sausages.

2Wrap, cover and refrigerate overnight.

3Place sausage on rack in broiler pan. Bake at 250° for 1 hour, or until sausages are very firm and brown.

4Sprinkle with remaining paprika.

5Wrap airtight. Refrigerate up to 1 week or freeze up to 3 weeks.

6To serve, cut into 1/4-inch slices.

7Makes 2 slices, 32 slices each.
