- 1 beef round steak (2 lb.; 1/2-inch thick)
- 6 Polish sausages or Smok-Y-Links hot dogs
- 2 Tbsp. lard
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 medium onion
- 1 (16 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1 (2 lb.) can sauerkraut
- few caraway seed
Directions

1Pound steak to 1/4-inch thickness.

2Cut into 6 pieces; place sausage on each roll.

3Fasten with toothpicks.

4Brown meat slowly in lard; drain.

5Season with salt.

6Add onion, tomato sauce, caraway seed and 1/2 the liquid from sauerkraut.

7Cover tightly; cook slowly for 1 hour.

8Add sauerkraut; continue to simmer for 30 minutes, until tender.

9Serves 6.
