German Chocolate Pie

- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- dash of salt
- 4 Tbsp. cocoa
- 7 oz. evaporated milk
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1/4 c. butter, melted
- 1 1/2 c. flaked coconut
- 1 c. pecans, chopped
- 1 deep-dish pie crust
- 1 pt. heavy cream, whipped
Directions

1Combine sugar, salt and cocoa in bowl.

2Stir in milk, vanilla, eggs and melted butter.

3Blend well with electric mixer.

4Stir in 1 cup coconut and 1/2 cup pecans (reserve remaining coconut and pecans to garnish pie).

5Pour mixture into pie shell (unbaked). Bake at 350° for 40 minutes.

6Cool throughly.

7Whip cream until peaks form; spoon on top of pie.

8Toast remaining nuts and coconut and sprinkle on top.
