  • 1 lb. brown sugar
  • 2 c. flour
  • 3/4 c. butter
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. ginger
  • 1/2 tsp. cloves
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. buttermilk

Directions

    Mix first 3 ingredients until crumbly; save 1 cup for topping. Add all other dry ingredients together, then add milk and egg batter; the mixture will not be smooth.
