German Liver Dumplings

Ingredients
- 1 lb. lean hamburger
- 1 lb. ground liver
- 2 sub rolls (put under faucet, then squeeze water out)
- 4 eggs
- 2 onions, chopped
- 2 heaping Tbsp. flour
- 5 to 6 Tbsp. bread crumbs
- 1 Tbsp. marjoram
- salt and pepper
- large pot beef broth
Directions

1Mix together hamburger, liver, rolls, 1 onion, eggs, flour, bread crumbs, marjoram, salt and pepper; mixture will be soft but will shape in broth.

2Form balls, big or small, and drop in hot broth.

3Simmer for 20 to 30 minutes.

4They will rise.

5Remove when done; saute the second onion in butter and pour over dumplings.

6Serve with sauerkraut or mashed potatoes.
