- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 medium onion, diced
- 2 tablespoons grated fresh ginger
- 1/4 cup white vinegar
- 1 cup adobo or barbecue sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Directions

1Heat the oil in a skillet over medium low heat.

2Saute the onions until soft, about 5 to 7 minutes.

3Add the ginger and cook for 1 minute to release the aromas.

4Add the vinegar and simmer to reduce by half.

5Add barbecue sauce, brown sugar and pepper and simmer, stirring occasionally, until sauce thickens, about 15 minutes.

6Place the sauce in a blender and puree.
