  • 250 g butter
  • 1 teaspoon syrup
  • 1 teaspoon boiling water
  • 1 teaspoon mixed spice
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 teaspoons bicarbonate of soda
  • 4 cups flour
  • 2 eggs
