  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 c. molasses
  • 2 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 5 c. flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. ginger
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon

    Cream shortening with sugar; add egg, molasses and vinegar. Beat well.

    Sift dry ingredients.

    Stir in.

    Chill overnight. Roll out dough; cut in shapes.

    Place on greased cookie sheet. Bake in 375° oven for 5 to 6 minutes.
