- 1/2 lb. (2 cubes) butter
- 1 c. granulated sugar
- 1 c. dark corn syrup
- 1/2 pt. sour cream
- 1 tsp. allspice
- 2 Tbsp. cinnamon
- 1 Tbsp. ginger
- 1 Tbsp. cloves
- 1 tsp. soda
- 4 to 5 c. flour
Directions

1Combine butter, sugar and corn syrup in a saucepan.

2Stir over low heat until butter is melted and mixture comes to a slow simmer.

3Remove from heat and allow to cool.

4Blend in spices and sour cream.

5Add soda and flour a little at a time until well blended.

6The dough will be soft.

7Shape into a roll; wrap well and refrigerate overnight or as long as a week.

8Unused portions can be frozen.
